Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, then coat with nonstick cooking spray.

Arrange the saltine crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter and brown sugar. Stir until the mixture becomes bubbly, then let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Pour the butter and sugar mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.

Bake in the oven for 5-6 minutes, until the mixture begins to bubble.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the crackers. Let the chocolate chips sit for about 5 minutes to melt.

Use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly over the crackers.

Sprinkle the chopped red and green M&Ms evenly over the melted chocolate.

Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 3 hours, or in the freezer for about 30 minutes, to set.

Once set, remove from the fridge or freezer and break the Christmas Crack into pieces.
