Cream together the softened butter, 2 cups of sugar, and eggs using a mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add buttermilk, flour, and baking soda, mixing until just combined.

Divide half of the batter (or slightly less) evenly between two greased loaf pans. Combine the sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a separate bowl. Sprinkle 3/4 of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the batter in each pan.

Spread the remaining batter evenly over the top in both pans. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top, then swirl the batter gently with a knife for a marbled effect.

Bake the loaves in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the loaves to cool in the pans for 20 minutes before carefully removing them.
