Rich Black Velvet Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons black cocoa powder
04 - 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

08 - 1 cup buttermilk
09 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
10 - 1/4 cup vegetable oil
11 - 2 large eggs
12 - 1 tablespoon white vinegar
13 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
14 - Black food coloring gel or paste

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Prepare two 9-inch cake pans
02 - Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add oil, eggs, vanilla, and vinegar
03 - Alternate adding sifted dry ingredients and buttermilk. Add food coloring
04 - Divide between pans, bake 25-30 minutes until done
05 - Rest in pans 10 minutes, then cool on rack

01 - Add extra food coloring for deeper black color
02 - Pairs well with cream cheese frosting or whipped ganache
