Preheat oven to 350°F. Either grease a baking dish or sheet pan with nonstick spray, or line with foil for easier cleanup.

Pat the sausages dry and wrap each one with a piece of bacon, securing with a toothpick.

Place brown sugar in a large zip-top bag. Working in batches, add a few bacon-wrapped sausages at a time and shake to coat with sugar. Transfer to prepared pan.

Season the prepared sausages with freshly grated black pepper to taste.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until bacon has browned. For crispier bacon, broil for a few additional minutes until desired crispiness is achieved.
