Butternut Gnocchi (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 12 oz Italian sausage, casings removed.
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil.
03 - 10 oz potato gnocchi.
04 - 1 cup heavy cream.
05 - 1/2 cup chicken broth.
06 - 1 cup butternut squash puree.
07 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
08 - 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped.
09 - 2 tablespoons fresh thyme.
10 - Salt and black pepper to taste.

# Instructions:

01 - Remove sausage casings, slice sausage.
02 - Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.
03 - Brown sausage: Cook 4 minutes one side, flip and cook 2 minutes other side.
04 - Add to skillet: Uncooked gnocchi, heavy cream, chicken stock, bring to boil, cover and cook 5 minutes.
05 - Add and simmer: Butternut squash puree, minced garlic, cook 3+ minutes until thickened.
06 - Stir in half herbs, season with salt and pepper, top with remaining herbs.

# Notes:

01 - Prepare squash puree in advance.
02 - Can use frozen squash puree.
03 - Sauce thickens naturally while cooking.
04 - Extra puree can be frozen.
05 - Perfect fall comfort food.
