Cabbage Roll Skillet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef

→ Vegetables

02 - 1 yellow onion, chopped
03 - 1 bell pepper, chopped
04 - 1 small head of cabbage, cored and chopped
05 - 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes

→ Seasonings

06 - 2 tsp Tony Chachere's creole seasoning
07 - 2 tsp garlic powder
08 - 2 tsp smoked paprika
09 - 1 tsp black pepper

→ Dairy

10 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

# Instructions:

01 - In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef completely. Drain excess fat, leaving approximately 2-3 tablespoons in the pan for flavor.
02 - Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Continue cooking for 3-4 minutes until vegetables begin to soften.
03 - Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, creole seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Cover with a lid and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
04 - Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the mixture. Cover again until the cheese is completely melted, about 2-3 minutes.
05 - Serve hot as a standalone dish or with a side of rice.

# Notes:

01 - The Tony Chachere's creole seasoning contains salt, so adjust additional salt carefully after tasting.
02 - For a lower-carb option, skip the rice side dish.
