Creamy Broccoli Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 12 ounces mini shells or small shaped pasta.
02 - 1 head broccoli, cut into small florets.
03 - 1 tablespoon olive oil.
04 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter.
05 - 1 medium onion, chopped.
06 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
07 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
08 - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes.
09 - Salt and pepper to taste.
10 - 1 cup heavy cream.
11 - 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated.

# Instructions:

01 - Boil pasta in salted water according to package. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.
02 - Heat oil and butter in large skillet over medium heat. Cook onion 3 minutes until soft, then add garlic for 30 seconds.
03 - Add broccoli, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes until broccoli softens.
04 - Add cream and ½ cup pasta water. Boil then simmer 5 minutes until thickened.
05 - Add Parmesan and cooked shells. Toss together and cook 1 minute more. Garnish with extra Parmesan.

# Notes:

01 - Salt pasta water well for better flavor.
02 - Cook pasta al dente to prevent mushiness.
03 - Keeps in fridge up to 5 days.
