French Toast Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 loaf (8 ounces) French bread, cubed.
02 - 1/2 cup butter.
03 - 1 cup brown sugar, packed.
04 - 6 large eggs.
05 - 2 cups milk.
06 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
07 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided.
08 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar for topping.
09 - Powdered sugar for topping (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 425°F. Butter a 13x9 inch baking pan.
02 - Melt butter and brown sugar in saucepan until smooth. Pour into baking pan.
03 - Spread bread cubes over brown sugar mixture in pan.
04 - Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour over bread ensuring all pieces are coated.
05 - Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and brown sugar.
06 - Cook for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

01 - Best made with day-old bread for better texture.
02 - Can be prepared the night before.
03 - Freezes well for up to 3 months.
