09 - Powdered sugar for dusting
10 - Whipped cream (optional)
11 - Fresh fruit (optional)

→ For Frying

12 - Vegetable oil (approximately 1/2 inch deep)

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
02 - Add salt, baking soda, and sugar to the wet mixture. Stir until combined.
03 - Gradually fold in flour until the batter becomes smooth and free of lumps.
04 - Pour the batter mixture into a gallon-size zip-top bag. Seal and set aside for a few minutes to rest.
05 - Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan to a depth of approximately 1/2 inch. Heat on high for about 2 minutes, then reduce to medium heat.
06 - Check if the oil is ready by dropping a small amount of batter into it. If bubbles form around the edges, the oil is at the correct temperature. If not, increase heat slightly until properly heated.
07 - Cut a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag. Carefully drizzle batter into 1-2 circular shapes in the hot oil. Cook until golden brown on the bottom.
08 - Gently flip the funnel cake bites using a slotted metal spatula. Cook until the second side is also golden brown.
09 - Transfer cooked funnel cake bites to paper towels to absorb excess oil. While still warm, sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.
10 - Serve immediately with whipped cream and/or fresh fruit if desired.

# Notes:

01 - These funnel cake bites are best enjoyed fresh and warm. You can control the size of the bites by adjusting how much batter you pipe into the oil.
02 - For a traditional fair experience, serve these on paper plates with plenty of powdered sugar.
