Garlic Shrimp Gratin (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil.
02 - 1 tablespoon butter.
03 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
04 - 2 cups milk.
05 - 1 pinch ground nutmeg.
06 - Salt to taste.
07 - 30 uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined.
08 - 4 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided.
09 - 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese.
10 - 1 shallot, thinly sliced.
11 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley.
12 - 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs.
13 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - Heat oil and butter, whisk in flour until paste forms. Gradually add milk and simmer until thick. Season with nutmeg and salt.
03 - Place shrimp in casserole dish, coat with 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning and salt.
04 - Cover shrimp with sauce, add Cheddar, shallot, remaining seasoning, and parsley.
05 - Sprinkle with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
06 - Bake for 25 minutes until crisp.

01 - Use raw shrimp for best results.
02 - Sauce should be thick and smooth.
