12 - 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
13 - 3 and 1/2 cups (440g) powdered sugar
14 - 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
15 - 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
16 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
03 - Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Beat until smooth. Stir in the boiling water; the batter will be thin.
04 - Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
05 - Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
06 - In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, alternating with milk and vanilla extract. Beat until fluffy and smooth.
07 - Spread frosting on top of one cake layer. Stack the second layer on top and frost the entire cake. Serve and enjoy.
