Combine tea bags and ground spices in boiling water. Simmer for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.

Remove from heat, add vanilla and honey. Stir until honey dissolves. Remove tea bags and vanilla pod if used.

Let the chai mixture cool to room temperature. For faster cooling, place in an ice bath.

Froth milk using a frother or by shaking in a sealed jar. Alternatively, warm slightly and whisk.

Fill glass with ice, pour cooled chai to 2/3 full, top with frothed milk. Add vanilla extract here if using instead of bean.
