Italian Christmas Cookie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2¼ cups all-purpose flour.
02 - 2 teaspoons baking powder.
03 - 3 large eggs.
04 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
05 - ½ cup salted butter, room temperature.
06 - 1½ teaspoons almond extract.
07 - 2 cups powdered sugar.
08 - 2-3 tablespoons milk.
09 - 1 teaspoon almond extract.
10 - Nonpareil sprinkles.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix flour and baking powder together in small bowl. Set aside.
02 - Beat butter until fluffy. Add eggs, sugar, and almond extract, mix until combined though mixture will look chunky.
03 - Add flour mixture and mix just until combined. Chill dough for at least one hour.
04 - Roll dough into balls using small scoop or tablespoon. Place 1 inch apart on parchment-lined baking sheet.
05 - Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes until set but not overbaked. Cool completely.
06 - Mix powdered sugar with milk gradually until thick glaze forms. Add extract.
07 - Dip cooled cookies in glaze, place on rack to drip. Add sprinkles while icing is wet.

# Notes:

01 - Keep dough chilled between batches.
02 - Don't overbake or cookies will be dry.
03 - Can use vanilla or anise extract instead of almond.
