Thaw turkey in refrigerator 3-7 days in advance.

Preheat oven to 325°F. Remove giblets, pat dry, and tuck wings underneath.

Stuff turkey cavity with onion, garlic, apple, lemon, rosemary, and thyme.

Mix softened butter with dried herbs, salt, and pepper.

Rub herb butter all over turkey and under skin. Tie legs together.

Place turkey breast-side up in roasting pan. Insert thermometer into thickest part of breast.

Cook 15 minutes per pound until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Let turkey rest 20 minutes before carving.
