The Juiciest Roasted Turkey (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 (12-20 pound) turkey, thawed.
02 - 1 medium onion, quartered.
03 - 3 cloves garlic, peeled.
04 - 1 large apple, quartered.
05 - 1 medium lemon, sliced.
06 - 2 sprigs rosemary.
07 - 2 sprigs thyme.
08 - ½ cup butter, softened.
09 - 1 tablespoon dried thyme.
10 - 1 tablespoon dried oregano.
11 - 1 tablespoon dried rosemary.
12 - 1 tablespoon dried sage.
13 - 1 teaspoon salt.
14 - ½ teaspoon pepper.

# Instructions:

01 - Thaw turkey in refrigerator 3-7 days in advance.
02 - Preheat oven to 325°F. Remove giblets, pat dry, and tuck wings underneath.
03 - Stuff turkey cavity with onion, garlic, apple, lemon, rosemary, and thyme.
04 - Mix softened butter with dried herbs, salt, and pepper.
05 - Rub herb butter all over turkey and under skin. Tie legs together.
06 - Place turkey breast-side up in roasting pan. Insert thermometer into thickest part of breast.
07 - Cook 15 minutes per pound until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
08 - Let turkey rest 20 minutes before carving.

# Notes:

01 - Allow 24 hours per 4-5 pounds for thawing.
02 - Remove pop-up thermometer if included.
03 - Juices should run clear when done.
