Whisk all marinade ingredients together in a bowl. Set aside.

Place the chicken breast on a cutting board and cover with plastic wrap. Pound the thick end with a meat mallet until it reaches an even thickness.

Transfer the marinade to a resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken breast, seal the bag, and move the chicken around until it's evenly coated.

Marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the marinade and bake or grill as desired.

Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set a wire rack on it. Place the chicken breast on the rack and bake, uncovered, until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (about 25 minutes for a ½-inch thick chicken breast).
