French Toast Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Unsalted butter (4 tablespoons)
02 - Sourdough or Italian bread (1 pound)
03 - Large eggs (8)
04 - Half-and-half (3 cups)
05 - Light brown sugar (3/4 cup)
06 - Vanilla extract (1 tablespoon)
07 - Ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
08 - Kosher salt (3/4 teaspoon)
09 - Ground nutmeg (1/2 teaspoon)
10 - Chopped nuts (2 ounces)
11 - All-purpose flour (1/4 cup)
12 - Maple syrup for serving
13 - Fresh berries for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Coat 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray
02 - Tear bread into bite-size pieces and spread in baking dish
03 - Whisk eggs, half-and-half, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until smooth
04 - Pour custard over bread, press down, cover and refrigerate overnight
05 - Mix nuts, flour, brown sugar, spices, and butter until crumbly
06 - Top with crumble and bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes until golden

01 - Can be prepared up to 24 hours ahead
02 - Needs at least 1 hour soak time
