Heat oven to 220C/425F or set broiler on high with shelf 30cm/12 inches from heat.

Place beans on tray, drizzle with 1 tablespoon oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Toss to coat.

Line up beans on tray in rows, pushing them close together.

Sprinkle with breadcrumbs then parmesan. Drizzle with remaining oil.

Roast for 15 minutes or broil for 8 minutes until parmesan is golden.

Transfer to serving platter using spatula and serve immediately.
