# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - ¾ pound penne pasta
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - ½ yellow onion, diced very small
04 - 1 cup frozen peas
05 - 6 thick slices bacon, cut into small slices
06 - ¼ cup heavy cream

# Instructions:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the pasta. Halfway through cooking, add the frozen peas to the water. Cook for 1 minute less than package instructions for al dente texture.
02 - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Cook finely diced onions and bacon until crisp but not burned.
03 - Drain pasta and peas, then add to the onion-bacon mixture. Lower heat to medium and stir in heavy cream. Add more cream if needed.
04 - Serve immediately while piping hot, allowing guests to add their preferred amount of cheese.

# Notes:

01 - Serve immediately as pasta continues cooking and gets softer the longer it sits
02 - Best served in large pasta bowls
03 - As Italians say: 'Pasta does not wait for you. You wait for it'
