Wash 4 jars and lids in warm soap water. Dry on a towel.

If using fresh fruit, blend seeds and strain juice.

Mix juice, pectin, butter in a big pot. Heat till bubbling.

Warm clean jars in hot water.

Add sugar all at once. Stir till bubbling again. Cook 2 1/2 minutes.

Take off heat. Skim foam off top.

Fill warm jars, leave 1/4 inch space. Clean rims, add lids.

Boil filled jars 10 minutes covered in water. Cool to seal.
