Smothered Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 large chicken breasts, halved lengthwise.
02 - Salt and pepper to taste.
03 - 1/2 cup flour.
04 - 1 tablespoon garlic powder.
05 - 1 tablespoon onion powder.
06 - 1/2 tablespoon paprika.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
08 - 2 tablespoons olive oil.
09 - 2 tablespoons butter.
10 - 1 medium-large onion, sliced.
11 - 1 cup chicken broth.
12 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce.
13 - 1/4 cup heavy cream.

# Instructions:

01 - Cut each chicken breast in half lengthwise.
02 - Season with salt and pepper.
03 - Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Reserve 2 tablespoons of flour mix.
04 - Heat oil over medium-high.
05 - Coat chicken in remaining flour.
06 - Cook chicken 5 minutes per side.
07 - Remove chicken to plate.
08 - Reduce heat to medium-low.
09 - Add butter and onions. Cook onions 15-20 minutes until golden.
10 - Add reserved flour, cook 1 minute.
11 - Add broth and Worcestershire sauce.
12 - Stir in cream.
13 - Return chicken to pan. Cook 5-7 minutes until done. Season to taste.

# Notes:

01 - Can use chicken thighs for more flavor.
02 - Reduce cayenne for less heat.
03 - Keep heat low for onions to prevent burning.
04 - Chicken is done at 165°F.
