Soft Christmas Peppermints (Old-Fashioned Butter Mints) (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup butter.
02 - 4 cups powdered sugar.
03 - 2 spoons heavy cream.
04 - 1/4 spoon mint flavor.
05 - Red food color.

# Instructions:

01 - Put down wax paper or parchment. Keep extra sugar nearby if mix gets sticky.
02 - Beat butter till fluffy.
03 - Mix in cream, sugar, and mint bit by bit till firm.
04 - Split dough. Color 1/4 red, leave rest white.
05 - Roll into two balls - one red, one white.
06 - Roll a thin red rope and thicker white rope.
07 - Twist ropes together.
08 - Break small bits off. Roll in hands to smooth.
09 - Put on wax paper. Wait 1-2 hours till less sticky. Cut with pizza cutter.
10 - Let dry one full day.
11 - Keep in sealed box. Can put in fridge if you want.
