Classic Sticky Toffee Pudding (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup (200g) pitted dates, chopped.
02 - 1 cup boiling water.
03 - 1 teaspoon baking soda.
04 - 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour.
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder.
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
08 - 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened.
09 - 3/4 cup (150g) packed brown sugar.
10 - 2 large eggs.
11 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
12 - 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter for sauce.
13 - 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar for sauce.
14 - 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream.
15 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for sauce.

# Instructions:

01 - Soak chopped dates in boiling water with baking soda for 15-20 minutes until softened.
02 - Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
03 - Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Mix in date mixture, then fold in dry ingredients.
04 - Pour into greased 8-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
05 - Melt butter, add brown sugar and cream. Cook until smooth, then add vanilla.
