Creamy Chicken Gnocchi Skillet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main ingredients

01 - Boneless skinless chicken breasts, 1 pound, cut into bite-sized pieces
02 - Potato gnocchi, 1 pound
03 - Garlic, 6 cloves, minced
04 - Heavy cream, 1 cup
05 - Chicken broth, 1 cup
06 - Parmesan cheese, grated, 1/2 cup
07 - Olive oil, 2 tablespoons

→ Seasonings and garnish

08 - Dried Italian herbs, 1 teaspoon
09 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
10 - Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs, then cook until golden brown and done, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
02 - In the same skillet, cook minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
03 - Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the skillet's bottom. Add gnocchi and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to become tender.
04 - Reduce heat to medium-low and add heavy cream. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
05 - Return chicken to the skillet and add Parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese melts and chicken is heated through. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or milk for a lighter version
02 - Gluten-free gnocchi can be used as an alternative
03 - The browned bits from cooking the chicken add extra flavor to the sauce
