Red Velvet Snowballs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Unsalted butter, room temperature (1/2 cup).
02 - Butter-flavored shortening (1/2 cup).
03 - Egg, room temperature (1).
04 - Buttermilk (3 tablespoons).
05 - Distilled white vinegar (1/2 teaspoon).
06 - Red food coloring (2 teaspoons).
07 - All-purpose flour (2 1/4 cups).
08 - Unsweetened cocoa powder (1/4 cup).
09 - Salt (1/4 teaspoon).
10 - Powdered sugar (1 cup).
11 - Unsalted butter, melted (1/4 cup for coating).
12 - Powdered sugar, sifted (1 1/2 cups for coating).

# Instructions:

01 - Cream together butter and shortening until combined.
02 - Mix in egg, buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla, and food coloring at low speed until combined.
03 - Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and powdered sugar in separate bowl.
04 - Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined. Chill dough for 1 hour.
05 - Scoop 1-tablespoon balls, place 2 inches apart. Bake at 350°F for 12-14 minutes.
06 - Dip warm cookies in melted butter, then roll in powdered sugar. Cool completely then coat again in powdered sugar.
