Your New Favorite Broccoli Pizza

I created this pizza one evening when I wanted something different from our usual takeout. The way fresh broccoli combines with salty feta and those gooey melted cheeses creates pure magic. Now it's become our go to when we're craving something that feels both indulgent and wholesome. That first bite with perfectly tender broccoli and melty cheese will make you wonder why you haven't been putting broccoli on pizza all along.

A Pizza That Makes Everyone Happy

What makes this pizza so special is how it transforms simple ingredients into something extraordinary. The combination of cheeses adds such wonderful depth while those kalamata olives bring the perfect salty pop. I love how quickly it comes together making it perfect for those nights when you want something homemade but easy.

What You'll Need

  • Broccoli: Steam it just until tender crisp.
  • Pizza Sauce: Use your favorite or try it with pesto.
  • Cheese: Our three cheese blend makes it extra special.
  • Olives: Those salty kalamatas add such great flavor.
  • Pizza Dough: Fresh dough makes all the difference.

Let's Make Pizza

Preheat and Prepare
Get your oven nice and hot while you steam that broccoli.
Prepare the Crust
Stretch your dough gently letting it rest if needed.
Spread the Sauce
Add just enough sauce to create a flavorful base.
Layer the Cheese
Start with that wonderful cheese mixture.
Assemble Toppings
Layer on your broccoli feta and olives.
Bake
Let it get golden and bubbly in the oven.

Making It Your Own

Sometimes I'll sauté the broccoli with garlic first it adds amazing flavor. Pesto makes a wonderful base too completely changing the character of the pizza. Adding mushrooms or roasted red peppers creates new flavor combinations we love exploring.

Keeping It Fresh

Any leftover slices keep nicely in the fridge for about 3 to 4 days. A quick warm up in the air fryer brings back that crispy crust though the microwave works when you're in a hurry.

Frequently Asked Questions

→ Why precook the broccoli?

Microwaving the broccoli ensures it's tender when the pizza is done, as the baking time isn't long enough to fully cook raw broccoli.

→ Why does my dough keep shrinking?

If the dough contracts while spreading, let it rest for a few minutes. This relaxes the gluten and makes it easier to shape.

→ Can I use store-bought pizza sauce?

Yes, while homemade sauce is recommended for best flavor, you can substitute your favorite jarred pizza sauce to save time.

→ Why use three different cheeses?

Each cheese adds unique flavor: mozzarella for melt, asiago for sharp taste, and feta for salty, tangy flavor.

→ How do I ensure a crispy crust?

Make sure to pat the broccoli dry after cooking and don't overload with toppings. A hot oven and pizza pan help create a crispy base.
